Federated Learning & Transfer Learning: A Partnership for an Ironclad Compliance Practice

Machine Learning (ML) is everywhere, and new innovations occur daily. During our September 8th webinar, CEO Gary M. Shiffman, PhD and Consilient Co-founder Juan Zarate walked us through two of the latest forms on machine learning to hit the risk and compliance realm: Federated Learning and Transfer Learning.
Federated Learning - a machine learning practice in which a "traveling algorithm" is trained. The algorithm goes to the data. Privately held information never needs to leave its secured environment.
Transfer Learning - is a machine learning method where a model developed for a task is reused as the starting point for a model on a second task. With each successive task (or query), the model (algorithm) improves. Data is sent to the algorithm.
Watch the full webinar below to learn the details of these methods and how they can work together to make the most of both internal and external data.
